Tip #4 of 27 Tips for Invitation Ordering: A Bride's Checklist

Tip #4: Choose your lettering styles.

Font is important!

Take time to consider the font type or lettering style(s) you want to use. For example, Birchcraft Studios offers over 60 different lettering styles.

Do you want a combination of lettering styles? Do you want to highlight particular lines?

Keep these questions in mind when considering your lettering styles for your invitation ensemble.

Stay tuned for Tip #5...

Happy wedding planning!

27 Tips for Invitation Ordering: A Bride's Checklist (Tip #1)

This bright white invitation is a winter wedding wonderland!

So, you're ready to order your invitations for your wedding?

But, where do you begin?

First you need to figure out your theme for your wedding. For some this can be a daunting task! For others, they knew their theme since they were little girls pretending to get married. :)

If you have trouble picking a theme, brainstorm some ideas first on paper or online. There are a lot of resources online to help you with inspiration {Pinterest, anyone?!}. But, one of the best places for brides {PERIOD.} is TheKnot.com. There you can find extensive help on themes for destination weddings, seasonally-themed weddings {spring, summer, fall, winter}, and weddings on a budget.

You can even build your own Wedding Inspiration Board on The Knot! While you're on TheKnot.com check out all the different areas you need to consider for your wedding. There is even a section called "Local Vendors" so you can work with wedding vendors in your area! The PaperCrafter's Nook is an invitations vendor listed under "Local Vendors" in the Pittsburgh/Southwest region of Pennsylvania on TheKnot.com. {However, we do serve all areas! If you're not in the Pittsburgh region, that's okay...we can help you, anyway...ain't modern technology grand!}

Once you have a themed picked out, this brings us to Tip #1:

Tip #1 ~ Be sure you order the correct quantity of invitations PLUS 25 extra invitations in case you forgot someone (very costly to reorder 25 later!).

How do you ensure you have the correct quantity?

Make a guest list ahead of time!

Consult with close relatives for their recommendations. But, ultimately remember that the final list is up to you and your significant other. Developing a wedding budget is very helpful for creating your guest list as the budget will help dictate the number of guests you should invite.

It's very important to be as organized as possible in your wedding planning. If all of this makes your head spin or you don't have the time to do all of the planning yourself, invest in a good wedding coordinator. You will save yourself time and stress when you hire someone to take care of the details for you. For this particular wedding vendor category you should definitely hire a local vendor {unless, of course, you're having a destination wedding...then you may decide to go with someone from that local or bring the coordinator with you...but that's an entirely DIFFERENT topic for another day!}. :)

If you're in the Pittsburgh area, my recommendation for a wedding coordinator is Veronica Stewart at Exquisite Events by Veronica, LLC. {Tell her Rachael Caskey from The PaperCrafter's Nook sent you!} Veronica is very sweet and quite attentive. Just check out the testimonials from her satisfied clients on her website to get an idea: http://www.eebyv.com/TESTIMONIALS.html

Stay tuned for Tip #2 tomorrow...

Happy wedding planning!
